Youth over age 14 may attend with an adult. \nThe Mitchell Park Wellness Collective invites you to join yoga instructor Mariyam for a gentle yoga flow followed by a sound bath. This is class is available in both English and Spanish. \nSound baths are a deeply immersive method of relaxation and meditation\, utilizing various instruments including singing bowls\, chimes\, tuning forks\, and gongs for a full body and dreamlike listening experience. \nAll levels are welcome. Dress comfortably for that day’s weather. SUMMARY:Make Your Own Bird or Bee Bath
DESCRIPTION:Join Milwaukee Domes Alliance and Audrey of the Mitchell Park Wellness Collective for a cozy Saturday afternoon at The Domes. \nDesign your own unique bee\, bird\, and butterfly bath to support your local pollinators! Choose from an array of sustainably sourced materials and learn how to easily maintain your new pollinator party. There will also be a short presentation about how you can make your outdoor space more friendly for our little environmental rockstars. As well as a guided tour through The domes to gain a better understanding of their life cycle. DESCRIPTION:This workshop is a part of the Milwaukee Domes Alliance adult workshop series. \nRegister here \nThe Mitchell Park Wellness Collective invites you to join yoga instructor Mariyam in the Show Dome for a gentle yoga flow followed by a sound bath. \nSound baths are a deeply immersive method of relaxation and meditation\, utilizing various instruments including singing bowls\, chimes\, tuning forks\, and gongs for a full body and dreamlike listening experience. \nAll levels are welcome. Dress comfortably – the Show Dome may be warm or chilly depending on that day’s weather. Dried natural materials and other stencil materials are the starting point for creating at least five beautiful and unique prints. \nThis simple printmaking process offers the experienced artist and beginning artist alike an alternative to technical and laborious printmaking methods. The process provides a means for immediate expression\, exploration\, and gratification. This approach becomes complex and engaging. Found natural dried materials or any flat materials are laid on a plexiglass plate rolled with printer’s ink. Dampened paper is placed over these and then rolled through an etching press to transfer the ink onto the paper. Several runs through the press produce rich color and spatial complexity. The participant and their guest will learn about and explore the history of The Domes and its world-class plant collection as well as acquire new skills in plant husbandry and propagation. During the workshop\, all attendees will choose a plant from the gift shop\, repot their new plant\, and take it home with instructions for care. Interpretive Educator\, Pete Stobie\, will teach houseplant skills related to watering and humidity\, choosing soil\, repotting\, light requirements\, and more. \nInteractive workshop includes: Domes History and houseplant care. The program covers the spectrum of seasonal music from little known folksongs to everyone’s favorites\, spiced with sing-alongs and good cheer! Santa’s helper\, Gnorman the Gnome\, performs on a variety of handmade folk instruments including mountain banjo\, mountain dulcimer\, concertina\, and guitar. \nMany of these songs appear on David’s “LET THERE BE LIGHT” CD. Elizabeth Friedman\, who has often performed with David in his annual Christmas Concert at the Mitchell Park Domes joins David in harmony. CDs are available at www.davidhbdrake.com/CD/light.htm

The program ranges from the first carol sung in North America to English wassails\, French carols\, memories of Christmas trees and marvelous toys. David performs on a variety of handmade folk instruments including mountain banjo\, mountain dulcimer\, concertina\, Native American flute and guitar. \nMany of these songs appear on his “LET THERE BE LIGHT” CD with Elizabeth Friedman\, who has often performed with David in his annual Christmas Concert at the Mitchell Park Domes in Milwaukee as the duo “Sweet Survivor”.
