DESCRIPTION:Folksinger and songsmith DAVID HB DRAKE will present a “Let There Be Light!” Concert at Mitchell Park Domes in Milwaukee\, WI on Sunday\, December 22 at 1 pm. \nLet There Be Light! is a concert of seasonal folk songs\, popular tunes\, original songs and traditional carols. The program covers the spectrum of seasonal music from little known folksongs to everyone’s favorites\, spiced with sing-alongs and good cheer! The program ranges from the first carol sung in North America to English wassails\, French carols\, memories of Christmas trees and marvelous toys. David performs on a variety of handmade folk instruments including mountain banjo\, mountain dulcimer\, concertina\, Native American flute and guitar. \nMany of these songs appear on his “LET THERE BE LIGHT” CD with Elizabeth Friedman\, who has often performed with David in his annual Christmas Concert at the Mitchell Park Domes in Milwaukee as the duo “Sweet Survivor”. Get ready for a morning filled with fun activities inspired by our pollinator friends! \nDate: Wednesday June 25\, 2025 \nTime: 9:00:00 AM – Central Standard Time – 12:00pm \nLocation: Mitchell Park Domes Education Center and Lobby \nDESCRIPTION: \nJoin the Milwaukee Domes Alliance (MDA) as we celebrate all things that frolic and fly! June is Pollinator Month. Pollinators are more than just bees and butterflies: moths\, bats\, flies\, hummingbirds\, even lemurs are important for successful seed and fruit production. Come learn more and celebrate with us! \nComplete your list of activities to receive a prize! \nThese include activities\, crafts\, games\, a themed snack\, a take-home activity\, gift shop discount\, and\, of course\, our fantastic plant collection! \nDress in your brightest colors! \nOur Family Fun Fests will take place annually during Milwaukee Public Schools’ winter break\, spring break\, and summer break. This program is perfect for ages 3-8\, but is great fun for all ages. \nCome see and discover more about tropical frogs like dart frogs\, tree frogs\, and glass frogs with Rainforest Rick! Look up close at the transparent bellies of the glass frogs (an adaptation that makes their frog shapes be less visible to predators)\, which allows you to see the heartbeating and intestines churning! Neat!
