DESCRIPTION:While guiding you through plant care and maintenance basics\, Dulce Duran of Chelotzin Plant Store will diagnose YOUR houseplants to give examples of proper care techniques. We encourage you to submit pictures of your houseplants for diagnosis and discussion. \nIn this workshop\, we will discuss how houseplants have different needs in different seasons and make sure you are set up for success this winter. \nThen\, we will travel to the desert and the tropics with Milwaukee Domes Alliance to view our common houseplants in their natural habitats to understand every plant’s unique needs. Leave with a new understanding of your houseplants AND a propagated succulent from The Domes! \nCost includes two small propagated houseplants and a guided tour of The Domes. SUMMARY:Succulent and Tropical Plant Propagation
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that the most common houseplants like fiddle leaf fig\, monstera\, lilies\, orchids\, and air plants come from a tropical environment? Whereas succulents like cacti\, jade plants\, and aloes thrive in a desert environment. How lucky that we can explore these environments and understand plants’ unique needs right here at the Milwaukee Domes! \nPropagation is the process of taking a piece of a mature plant and providing the right conditions to make a clone of that plant. If you have one houseplant\, it is likely that you can make many more of that same plant through propagation (instead of having to buy more). We will learn the basics of succulent and tropical plant propagation and the major differences between the two. \nThis class includes taking home two propagated succulents and a tour of the desert and tropical domes. Cost includes all materials and entrance to The Domes. \nThis workshop is a part of the Milwaukee Domes Alliance adult workshop series. Youth 12-15 are welcome with an adult supervisor. \nPre-registration is required.

CAFOs have expanded in Wisconsin — from under 50 CAFOs 30 years ago to more than 300 today.
