Arguably, the most important action you can take to save the beloved Mitchell Park Domes is to contact your state elected officials and ask for their support of the Domes Reimagined project. Specifically, we are asking them to match Milwaukee County’s financial commitment and to do so in the 2025/2026 budget. Here is how to make that happen.

Step 1: Message Governor Tony Evers via this form.

Step 2: Email your state senator and representative. Find the names and email addresses of your representative and senator by clicking this link and entering your home address.

You can copy/paste the following message. Feel free to edit the message to say why YOU love The Domes. Thank you!

Dear NAME,
I am writing today to ask that you include funds in the 2025/26 budget to support the “Domes Reimagined,” a plan that restores Milwaukee’s beloved Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes).

As you may have seen in the news, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted in support of the Domes Reimagined plan. That support came with a $30M commitment from Milwaukee County to help fund the $134M overall project costs.

It is amazing to see that level of bipartisan support — it is definitely an indication that this project matters.

The Domes have been at risk of demolition for years. Now, for the first time, we have a great plan that is supported by all. It is one that doesn’t simply restore The Domes, but also achieves two important objectives: 1) A better experience for visitors; and 2) a sustainable business model.

The Domes are a critical asset for Milwaukee County and an indispensable part of our skyline. In fact, the new Visit Milwaukee logo was designed as a nod to our iconic horticultural conservatory. They are an important driver of tourism dollars for the State.

In addition, they are a powerful tool for supporting environmental awareness and sustainability.

The Domes Reimagined plan is our final chance to save this beloved Milwaukee icon. I ask that you include this project in the 2025/26 state budget.
