Friends of the Domes is pleased to offer several programs geared toward adults 60 and over. Each provides a unique opportunity for the participant to connect with nature.

Program #1: SPARK! at The Domes

SPARK! at The Domes is a program that provides older adults with memory challenges and their caregivers nature-based activities and experiences at Milwaukee’s most beautiful indoor setting: the Mitchell Park Domes.

SPARK! at The Domes is available at no cost to those experiencing memory loss and their caregivers. Each session is 1.5 hours.

Guests are encouraged to participate each month (or as often as possible), with new activities and themes offered at each session. Come learn about music, plants and nature — and share your memories of The Domes.

Cost: Free for anyone experiencing memory loss and their caregivers (pre-registration is required)

Upcoming SPARK! Programs

Program #2: Growing and Thriving Workshop

This 2-hour workshop provides the opportunity for participants to dig into their love of nature. Offered quarterly, each workshop is free to people who live in the Greater Milwaukee Area (one workshop per participant please). Participants may bring one guest (family, friend or caregiver) who may also participate in all activities at no charge.

Each workshop includes:

1. An educational session on plant care and propagation;
2. An opportunity to select a free houseplant and pot to take home with you (participants will repot the plant during the workshop);
3. A tour of the either the Tropical or Show Dome, depending on the weather (where the temperature is most comfortable).

Cost: Free for Milwaukee-area residents who are 60 or older plus one guest (one workshop per person; pre-registration is required)

Program #3: Discounted Friends of the Domes Membership

Senior memberships for those 60+ are only $30 annually and include the following benefits:

1. Free year-round admission to The Domes for the senior plus one guest
