The Milwaukee Domes Alliance offers a variety of volunteer opportunities including:

Special Events
The Milwaukee Domes Alliance holds several events annually, which would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers.

• Shifts are available on weekends and weekday evenings
• Tasks may include set up, check-in, greeting visitors, and cleanup
• No prior experience necessary
• Events include:
  • Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration – Last Friday in October
  • Art in the Green – last weekend in April
  • Milwaukee Domes Alliance Gala – February
  • Family Fun Fests – winter, spring, and summer during Milwaukee Public Schools’ breaks

Office Volunteering

Assist Milwaukee Domes Alliance staff in the offices

• Shifts are available during business hours, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
• Tasks may include calling lapsed members, event preparations, data entry, and helping with mailings
• No prior experience necessary

Garden Volunteers

Help the Domes horticultural team tend the indoor and outdoor gardens.

• Shifts are available Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-11:30am
• Tasks may include sweeping in the Domes, mulching outdoors, weeding outdoors, and more
• Prior gardening and/or horticultural experience is appreciated but not required. This position requires an in-person orientation.

Education Volunteering

Education volunteers help to promote a love of nature for all ages by providing hands-on resources and education.

• • Shifts are available weekdays and weekends, during the day
  • Available positions include:
    • Education Center staffing: The Education Center is a great way for young visitors to grow their love of nature. Volunteers help visitors by providing instruction and answering questions. The Ed Center is open seven days a week. No prior experience necessary. This position requires an in-person orientation
    • Adult and family workshop assistance: Assist with organizing or facilitating an educational workshop. Event and/or content expertise appreciated, though not necessary

• Storytime volunteering: Read themed books to our youngest visitors and their families. Storytime is every Wednesday at 10am, and the last Wednesday of each month is a bilingual storytime in Spanish and English. No prior experience necessary. This position requires an in-person orientation.

Board and Other Volunteer Leadership Roles

The Milwaukee Domes Alliance Board of Directors is an active and engaged governing board that provides strategic direction and resource generation to benefit the Mitchell Park Domes. In addition to Board placement, there are many other strategy-level committees and task forces working to build a new future for the Domes.
