Milwaukee Domes Alliance (formerly Friends of the Domes)

Milwaukee Domes Alliance is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) established in 1989. We directly channel resources that make possible many of the educational and cultural programs held at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory. Our support complements, but is separate from the support provided by Milwaukee County.

Milwaukee Domes Alliance, responsible for this website, includes a network of thousands of community members who donate their time, talent and treasure to ensure that Milwaukee always has a world-class horticultural conservatory.

About the Domes

The Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, or “The Domes” as they are referred to locally, is a Milwaukee County Park and is in fact the oldest park in the Milwaukee Parks system. The Domes is home to three architecturally unique structures that are filled with plants and animals from different climates. Each dome is almost half a football field wide and seven stories tall.
