The Education Center is a wonderful place for children of all ages to learn about the natural world.

The exhibits rotate quarterly so there is always something fun and new.

There is no charge to access the Ed Center; however, you will need to pay the entrance fee for the Domes. As always, there is no fee for Milwaukee Domes Alliance members – become a member.

Education Center Frogs

Meet the Education Center’s amphibian friends! Our dart frog mascots recently moved into their new vivarium. Plan a visit to the Education Center to meet them, and be sure to vote in our naming contest below!

Rainforest Rick bred these very special frogs for educational purposes, and they are not being released into the Tropical Dome. Visit Rainforest Rick’s website for more information on the different species.

Fun Frog Feeding Facts

Here are a few fun frog feeding facts:
Food must be moving to trigger a dart frog’s brain to recognize it.
Flightless fruit flies serve as the main diet for the Domes’ dart frogs.
Flies are dusted with a calcium/vitamin powder to ensure a balanced diet for the frogs.
The flies are placed on a slice of banana in the vivarium as a feeding station.
Dart frogs are fed about 20-30 flies per frog about two to three times per week.
Once they reach adulthood, the diet will increase to 50-75 flies per frog.
