Last week marked a historic moment for the future of the Mitchell Park Domes! Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson officially signed legislation approving a $30 million funding commitment for the Domes Reimagined plan.
This decision sets the stage for a public-private partnership between Milwaukee County, Milwaukee Domes Alliance, and philanthropic and private partners to restore and revitalize our beloved Domes for generations to come.
Under the agreement, Milwaukee Domes Alliance will take over facility ownership and operations, while Milwaukee County continues horticultural care. The plan ensures a fiscally responsible path forward, protecting taxpayers and preserving a one-of-a-kind Milwaukee landmark.

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible supporters. Your emails and phone calls to local representatives, including County Executive David Crowley, played a crucial role in getting this plan approved. This milestone would not have been possible without your advocacy and passion for the Domes.
In terms of next steps, Milwaukee Domes Alliance is working quickly and with intention to secure the remaining financing required for Phase 1 (projected cost = $115M). The capital stack includes tax credit financing, other public financing, and a private philanthropic campaign.
